Tim Sparv is a Finnish midfielder who was born in Oravais, Finland on 20th February 1987. Sparv began his youth career with Norrvalla FF and represented his country at the 2003 FIFA U-17 World Championship. He moved to Southampton the same year, and was part of the clubs successful youth side of 2005. Sparv failed to make a single first team appearance at St Marys however.
In January 2007 Sparv moved to Swedish outfit Halmstad. After a slow start, he was loaned to VPS in 2008. When Sparv returned to Halmstad he put in a number of good displays, and earned his first full international cap for Finland on 4th February 2009 in a 5-1 loss to Japan.
On 1st January 2010 Sparv signed for Eredivise side Gronigen. He made his debut for the Dutch club on 7th March 2010 in a 1-0 win over VVV. Sparv had his best season to date in 2010/11, helping Gronigen to a 5th place finish, narrowly missing out on a Europa League spot in the play-offs. He scored his first goal for the club in a 1-1 draw with AZ on 14th August 2010.
