Tamas Vasko

Tamas Vasko is a Hungarian centre back who was born on February 20th 1984 in Budapest. Vasko began his career at Ujpest, making his debut in 2004. The man nicknamed 'The White Rhino' became a regular fixture for the Purples in 2005/06 and was named captain the following season. On March 28th 2007 Vasko won his first international cap in a 2-0 win over Moldova.

In July 2007 Vasko joined Southampton on trial. He played for the club in a pre season match at Eastleigh, but looked unimpressive and was not offered a full time contract. Vasko did join fellow Championship side Bristol City weeks later on a deal until the end of the campaign. The Hungarian was used mostly from the subs bench during City's 2007/08 Championship season. He scored his only goal for the club in a 1-0 win over Burnley on 29th December 2007. Vasko was not offered a permanent deal at Ashton Gate following his departure in May 2008. He joined Avellino on loan for 2008/09, a season which ended in relegation from Serie B. Vasko returned to Ujpest the following campaign.

In 2010 Vasko joined Videoton. He helped the Hungarian outfit to a 2011 Championship win. Vasko scored his first goal for the club on 4th May 2011 in a 4-0 pasting of Kaposvari Rakoczi.
