Rudd Knol is a Dutch defender who was born in Zevenaar, Netherlands on 13th March 1981. Knol began his career at Vitesse, and spent over seven years in Arnhem, lining up alongside the likes of Mahamadou Diarra and Matthew Amoah. He also represented the club in the UEFA Cup before his 2007 departure. In the summer of 2007 Knol had a trial with Southampton, and played in a reserve game for the Championship outfit. A deal never materialised however, and Knol went on to sign for PAOK in Greece shortly after. In 2008 the Dutchman moved to Sparta Rotterdam, and was part of the side that got relegated from the Eredivise in 2010. Knol scored his first goal for the club on 15th November 2008 in a 4-0 win over Volendam.
