Harrison Reed is an English central midfielder who was born on 27th January 1995. Reed signed for Southampton at a very young age, playing alongside the likes of Dom Gape, Sam McQueen, Jake Sinclair, Luke Shaw, Calum Chambers and James Ward-Prowse at U10 level all the way up to the academy and beyond. Reed was in and out of the U18 squad during his first year as a scholar in 2011/12, before establishing himself in Jason Dodd's starting eleven the following season. He formed a terrific partnership with Gape in the middle. Reed is an intelligent and dynamic player. Tactically he is very astute, and is very capable of linking up play between defence and attack. He was promoted to the U21 squad in early 2013, and scored a cracker in a 2-1 win over Arsenal at Eastleigh. He also trained with the first team on several occasions, where he earned praise from Morgan Schneiderlin.
Reed had a solid start to the 2013/14 season. He was involved in the first team squad for the League Cup clash at Barnsley on 27th August 2013.
