Garyn Preen is a Welsh winger who was born in Tredegar, Wales on 25th October 1991. Preen began his career as a youngster with Cardiff City, but moved to Southampton when he was 12 years old. During his time at Saints, Preen earned call ups to the Welsh under 17's and under 19's squad, scoring twice for the U17s. The Welshman was named as an unused substitute for Southampton against Gillingham on 3rd October 2009. Preen never appeared for Saints first team before his release in June 2010.
Preen joined League Two side Burton Albion on July 23rd 2010. He made his debut for the club against his hometown side Cardiff City in the Carling Cup on 11th August 2010. The former Southampton man's second appearance for The Brewers came in the JPT trophy defeat to Rotherham on 6th October 2010. On 26th November, Preen was loaned to Conference North side Stafford Rangers, who were managed by former Southampton and Blackburn goalkeeper Tim Flowers. Preen returned to Burton a month later but only made one more appearance for the club during 2010/11, against Macclesfield on 30th March 2011.
In June 2011 Preen joined Welsh Premier League side Neath.
