Chris Lucketti is a former English defender who was born in Littleborough on 28th September 1971. Lucketti began his career with Rochdale, making a single appearance for the Greater Manchester based club in 1988/89 before moving to Stockport in 1990. After spending a year in the reserves at Edgeley Park, Lucketti joined Halifax in 1991. He was part of the side that finished bottom of the football league in 1992/93.

Unlike Halifax, Lucketti remained in the football league for the 1993/94 season after signing for Bury. He was a key part of The Shakers mid nineties success. Under manager Stan Ternent, the Gigg Lane club won promotion from Division Three to Division One in consecutive seasons between 1995 and 1997. Lucketti remained at Bury until their 1999 relegation from the second tier. He played 235 league matches for the club.

Huddersfield signed Lucketti on 11th June 1999 for £750,000. He helped the Terriers to an 8th place Division One finish in his first season at The Galpharm. The following campaign Lucketti was relegated for the third time in his career when Huddersfield finished 22nd. On 23rd August 2001 the former Halifax man signed for Preston who were managed by David Moyes. Lucketti helped North End reach the play-off final in 2004/05. He lined up for the club at the Millennium Stadium in their play-off final defeat to West Ham on 30th May 2005.

Lucketti joined Sheffield United on loan in March 2006 until the end of the season. He played in the last three matches of The Blades promotion winning campaign. His debut came in a 1-1 draw against Leeds on 18th April 2006.

On 1st June 2006 Lucketti signed a one year deal at Bramall Lane after Neil Warnock paid £250,000 for the Preston defender. He rarely played in Sheffield United's first top flight campaign since 1993/94, featuring in just 8 league matches. In July 2007 Lucketti signed on for another year with The Blades who by now were back in The Championship. He was once again stuck in the reserves for most of the campaign however. On March 27th 2008 Lucketti joined Southampton on loan until the end of the season. His debut for Saints came on 5th April in an impressive 2-0 home win over Bristol City. Lucketti formed a great understanding with defensive partner Chris Perry, and helped keep Nigel Pearson's side in the division. He declined the opportunity to play for The St Marys club in their final match of 2007/08 against his employers Sheffield United. Both teams had something to play for, with Sheffield United fighting for a play-off place and Saints needing a result to survive. Lucketti believed it wasn't fair for him to play as his loyalties could be split.

Lucketti returned to Huddersfield on 4th July 2008. His old Bury boss Stan Ternent had taken the defender back to Yorkshire. Lucketti started the season well and was handed the captains armband, but missed a large portion of the season through injury. When Ternent was replaced as manager by Lee Clark, Lucketti eventually fell out of favour. He remained at the club during 2009/10, but didn't play a single first team game. He was released on 17th May 2010.
