Alaeddine Yahia

Alaeddine Yahia is a French/Tunisian centre back who was born in Colombes, Hauts-de-Seine, France on September 26th 1981. Yahia began his career at lower league French outfit Louhans-Cuiseaux, but moved to Guingamp in 2001. He became a semi-regular at the club during the 2002/03 season, earning himself international recognition for Tunisia. Yahia played alongside the likes of Didier Drogba and Florent Malouda at Guingamp. He was part of Tunisia's 2004 Olympic football team.

On 24th August 2004 Yahia signed for Southampton for £ 350,000. Despite the club struggling at the back he wasn't given a single minutes playing time in the first team. In January 2005 Yahia joined Saint-Etienne on loan until the end of the season. He joined the club permanently in the summer of 2005. Yahia was part of Tunisia's 2006 World Cup squad, and played in the 3-1 defeat to Spain on 19th June.

Yahia signed for Sedan in July 2006, but failed to hold down a regular spot in the starting eleven, even after the club was relegated in 2007. Yahia then joined Nice, but once again found himself stuck on the bench more often than not.

Yahia joined Lens in 2008 and helped the club win promotion back to Ligue 1. He has since been a firm fixture in the first team. In 2010/11 he was part of the Lens side that were relegated back down to Ligue 2. He started the following campaign in good form however, netting a goal in a 2-0 win over Monaco on 29th August 2008.
